Oregon, Day 5 - Crater Lake

We hopped into a few cars and hit the trail south toward Crater Lake pretty early on Wednesday morning. The weather held well, summer dry and clear, and the light was bright, yielding some beautiful shots of Crater Lake itself.

Craggy old tree overhanging the Lake near the lodge where we ate lunch, and drank Deschutes Brewery beers. I don't know what I was thinking, but I didn't get a picture of the lodge itself. Oops...

Looking out toward Wizard Island. Hard to believe that this lake was once a big freakin' mountain ala Mount Hood!

Looking down along the cliff like shore.

The crew. We are a motley lot. Hey wait...where's the kid?!?!
Don't sweat it, she's conked out in the car fast asleep.

More tree detritus.

After hiking down to the water itself, the views were also spectacular.
