Saw this picture on my brother's page...
...and thought I'd point out that only an American (albeit a culturally sensitive American!) would see something as distinctively non-American as a bike share station and take a picture of it almost on accident as if it were really just a feature of the landscape and not a potential cultural evolution in the making, and then name the picture, "Electrical".
And did we really name that post "Cults and Invasions"?!?
Even those of us that are consciously not car oriented are still almost subconsciously bike averse.

Ha! Yeah, it's true -- I saw the bikes, but only as a visually rhythmic occurrence in the foreground of the actual subject of my photo.
I do like bikes as objects of photos, though. Just the other day I was thinking about how adding a bike to a street always makes it more photogenic, and why is that??
Those Boris Bike stations are EVERYWHERE. (I understand the term "Boris Bike," though popular, is something of a misnomer, because Boris Johnson, our mayor, didn't actually launch the program -- it's older than his term in office.)
Oh, and as for it being non-American, New York is launching an identical program: http://citibikenyc.com/
There are a few bike share programs popping up in the US, but not yet in numbers that would move the phenomenon from euro-weird to Yank-standard.
