I agree on the college comment - bit of old school thinking - that may longer apply to the modern world.

When blue collar and other manufacturing jobs were plentiful, and you could support a family with one - college was for "higher end" jobs - or to "round out your education". It seems now college is a given and expected just to compete for lower level jobs. Plus start your "career" with a huge debt. Crazy town.

I have a 9 and 13 year old, no way we can afford huge dough to put 'em both through college - at the same time we're allegedly heading towards retirement age. We had kids late, like many people do now.

They'll either have to figure something else out, take out loans, or - not sure yet...
