GA Aquarium
Baby loved her trip to see the fishes. I'm not a fan of posting pictures of her on the web, but I did get a few that are pretty cute in that they show her enthusiasm for the exhibits without showing her. The aquarium was very nice. Well maintained and with some amazing specimens, including 2 Beluga whales and 4 Whale Sharks!
Gotta keep the kids pics off the web! Too many wackos!

For Sale!
Got the Rush ready for the block, headed to Fleabay tonight. Gotta sell it before all the banks fail so I can have money for canned beans to feed the baby..It's all George Bush's fault, firing off all them rockets...
On a more serious note. I came in to work today and found out that a co-worker has passed away from apparently drowning in a hot tub. Such an awful thing. He was a fellow cyclist, and we had discussed doing a distance mountain bike tour called the Tour De Felasco together. We are all pretty stunned and saddened here in the office, sort of in that zombie state where we all plod from room to room and dwell on mortality more than actually get work done. He was a good guy and a smart hire and the department will be different in many unfortunate ways, some yet apparent to us, with him gone.
Progress!
Have I been on a bike? Nope. Have I sold a bike? Nope, although tonight I hope to change that. Have I bought a new bike? Yup. OOPS! So much for progress!
Actually...to hell with that, baby! I HAVE made progress! Just not with the bikes. You may remember the roof story, and the porch story, and I may have actually eluded to the bathroom ceiling story related to the roof story...
Progress! We have a bathroom ceiling! Of course, there's a lot more sanding to be done, and I have some work to do with the 12" knife and another 3 gallons of so of joint compound, but anyway...A CEILING! WOOHOO! I deserve yet another bike!

Drought...
My clan has all been riddled with disease these last few weeks, and then last weekend I had to go to the ATL for a wedding reception, so I'm trying to get up to speed at work. One thing you don't want to do when you have a load of backlog on the computer to pound through for a paycheck, is to pound through your personal drivel for a blog too. Paycheck comes first. It will get better for the blog, I promise. Big changes on the 'bike collection' front. Think smaller...and yet bigger. Yes, the Klein logo is a big teaser.
Finished reading 'Contact' last night...great book!

T-Shirts!
I put up some old Jerseys a while back, and it made me think that I should take a pic of my old bike biz t-shirts while they are still somewhat whole! The Ted Wojcik Custom Bicycles shirt that I used to have, and a Reynolds 853 Steel is Real shirt, are the only ones that are dead, I think. Simpler times, simpler times...

On the Block...
Here's a potential fleabay dump.
I've owned this TST-Sandvik ti mountain frame since 05, and it is an 03 model. The thing rides great, is ti so I don't have to worry about chipping the paint, and I'll probably never be motivated enough on the ti front to ever seek out a more custom or expensive ti frame for myself so this job would arguably be the last ti I own. Problem is, I have 5 other built mountain bikes (two which I think are headed for breakdown and ebay in their own rights) and this sucker is one of two unbuilt frames in the shop.
I had it on the 'bay last week with a crazy reserve, just fishing, and it topped at a number that I would never sell it for. Maybe a BIN listing is the ticket?
It's a nicely made frame. The welds are typical TST stuff, so they aren't shameful by any measure, but they wouldn't ever be mistaken for Vandermark work. Part of me says it's not hurting anything just hanging in the shop maybe waiting for another day in the sun, and part of me says, move on...you want to refocus your life on the things that are important, and this bike, seeing as it only has a smattering of parts on it, clearly isn't on that list. Besides...selling it gets you closer to property in North Carolina.
Hmmm.

Thinning the herd
I'm going to be dumping some goodies on ebay again. Some various retro bike stuff that I've inadvertently amassed over the last few years. Seems like that being active in cycling means not only gaining more equipment that you do use, but also gaining more junk that you don't. Last week, CQP cranks, Sugino Impel cranks, and some spare Manitou suspension elastomers went out on the old fleabay. This week, I've got some Race Face stuff, NOS Control Tech and KORE and some other odds and ends for the 'bay. The good news is that this just means more dough for the bikes that I do ride!
Might thin the bikes too.
Maybe.
Probably not.
